We are a family run small hotel, owned by the same Dissanayake family over 25 years. Our warmth and hospitality has brought the same guest back over again. The original Yellow House was situated nearer the foot of the mountain but due to being on government land we had to look for a new location. We would like to kindly inform you that our new place has now moved to the main road on the left side just before you come into Dalhousie. With the insight of building on a sloping hill and having panoramic views of Adams peak and a beautiful stream down at the bottom of the garden. Our dream became reality in 2005 when our doors finally reopened but under a new name of Slightly Chilled. Built from scratch you will find our small hotel to meet the criteria of a modern day Hotel but still retaining with the old style of Yellow House.
Many people ask why we are now called “Slightly Chilled” with the help of foreign investment this project wouldn’t have been possible without them. They felt our service was the best they had in Sri Lanka and felt totally relaxed and chilled out in a warm environment. It was their wish and planning to open more Slightly Chilled hotels in Asia. We are proud to be the first Slightly Chilled hotel and the second Slightly Chilled lounge bar already opened at Kandy. We hope travelers will see the qualities and the service we offer and spread the warm vide to the other travelers.
